Good times to ask

You don't need a new system. Pick a moment that already happens after every job, and ask then.

Two easy moments

  1. When you finish the job, before you leave. In the driveway or in the truck. The visit is fresh in everyone's mind.
  2. When you send the invoice. Whoever handles billing sends the request at the same time.

Pick one and stick with it. That's the whole habit.

Make it part of the routine

  • Ask everyone. Every customer, every job. Don't pick and choose. See Fair to every customer.
  • Ask for the email up front. At booking or at the door, the way you'd ask for a phone number.
  • Share the job. In the office, one person can send for the whole team. On the road, each person can send for their own jobs from the same page.
  • Keep it personal. A short job description like heat pump install makes the email feel like it's from a person, because it is.
  • Answer every unhappy reply. That's where Rapid Feedback earns its keep. See When a customer isn't happy.

What to say in person

You don't need a script, but some people like one:

"I'll send you a quick email to see how everything went. It takes about ten seconds. If anything's not right, that's the fastest way to tell me."

Good to know

Rapid Feedback helps you ask every customer, consistently. What customers say, and whether they leave a Google review, is always up to them.
